Credit advisory

Read the credit file the way a lender reads it.

A standalone educational engagement for business owners. 2 files enter every financing decision, the owner's personal report and the company's business credit file, and most owners have read neither. Credit advisory teaches you what each 1 contains, how to review it for accuracy, and how to manage it on a routine you keep after the engagement ends.

Education and credit management. Not credit repair.

2 files, 2 stories

The owner and the company are read separately. Review them separately.

A company's credit file does not replace the owner's personal history, and a strong personal score does not describe the company. A lender may read both, particularly for a younger business.

Personal credit

The individual behind the business.

A consumer credit report records borrowing activity and account history. Lenders read it when assessing an application, and other organizations can use it for decisions on housing, insurance, and utilities within the applicable rules. For a newer company with a short financial history, the SBA notes that the owner's personal credit can carry weight in a financing review. Knowing what the report says is more useful than a remembered score.

Why both profiles matter

Business credit

The company's financial record.

A business credit file describes the company rather than the individual: its legal name, reported payment experience, and information associated with the entity. Commercial creditors and suppliers can read it before they set terms. The review starts with accurate business information, and the correction process is the reporting company's business process, not the consumer one.

What the engagement covers

4 areas of work, delivered as education you keep.

The conversation is built around the questions you bring. These are the 4 areas every engagement works through, each 1 backed by a brief you can read before we speak.

01

Understand the information

The difference between a report and a score, what appears in each profile, and why different decisions can involve different scoring models. A score is a signal. The report is the evidence behind it.

Reports and scores, explained

02

Review for accuracy

How to recognize an unfamiliar account, an incorrect balance, a duplicate entry, or a status that does not match your records, and the official channels that exist to address a genuine error at no cost.

A practical guide to reporting errors

03

Build a management routine

Payment dates, reported balances against limits, and new credit activity, organized into a routine you can maintain when cash flow changes. Informed decisions and consistent practice, not a promised score.

Credit habits worth understanding

04

Keep the business record clear

The role of the business credit file, how to keep company information consistent across it, and how to organize the financial records a lender or supplier will ask for. Personal and business profiles each get their own review.

How the engagement runs

Standalone. Fixed fee. Never a condition of anything else.

Credit advisory is a separate engagement from every funding facility and advisory mandate on this site.

Credit advisory is a fixed fee engagement with scope and fee set out in a single engagement letter after a qualifying conversation. The fee purchases education and work product, never a promised result, and it is never contingent on a score, a deletion, or a funding decision. Credit advisory is not a condition of any funding placement, and a funding placement is not a condition of credit advisory. An owner can engage 1 without the other.

The engagement runs remotely on a defined schedule: a first read of the profiles you have pulled yourself, a written review of what each file contains and what warrants a closer look, and a management routine you keep. Reports and account numbers are never submitted through the website form. They are discussed only in the engagement, only when you choose to bring them.

Clear expectations

Progress begins with accurate information, not with a promise.

Every claim on this page can be checked against the FTC and the CFPB. That is the standard the engagement is built to.

Not credit repairCitadel Ridge does not dispute accurate information, does not promise the removal of any entry, and does not sell a new credit identity. Accurate, current negative information generally cannot be removed because it is unfavorable.
No score promiseNo particular score, no point increase, and no timeline. The engagement teaches you to read and manage the file. The file moves on the facts in it.
No financing outcomeCompleting credit advisory does not produce an approval, a placement, or an offer. Facilities are underwritten by third party lenders on the whole file, and a credit profile is 1 input.
The official channels are freeYou can request your reports and dispute a genuine error yourself, at no cost, through AnnualCreditReport.com, the reporting companies, and the CFPB. The engagement shows you how. It never replaces that right.

What to bring

What the engagement asks of you.

Request the engagement brief through the intake form and note Credit advisory as the need. Qualification is a conversation, not an application, and nothing on this list goes through the form.

Your own copies of the reportsPulled by you from AnnualCreditReport.com and, for the company, from the business reporting companies. Keep the originals. Bring copies to the engagement only.
Your own recordsStatements and payment records for any entry you want to review, so the file can be compared against the facts rather than against memory.
The obligations listEvery personal and business obligation with its payment date and amount, because the management routine is built on it.
The questionsWritten down before the first conversation. The engagement is shaped around them.

Questions

Answered straight.

Is credit advisory credit repair?

No. Credit repair, as the FTC describes it, is a service that promises to improve your credit for a fee. Credit advisory is education and credit management for business owners: how to read the personal and business files, how to review them for accuracy, and how to manage the obligations behind them. Citadel Ridge does not dispute accurate information and does not promise any change to a score or a report. The brief on credit improvement sets out the difference in detail.

Is credit advisory required to explore funding?

No. Credit advisory is a separate engagement. It is never a condition of a funding placement, and a placement is never a condition of credit advisory. A business can send the file for a funding read without ever engaging credit advisory, and an owner can engage credit advisory with no funding request at all.

Does the intake form ask for my credit report?

No, and please do not send it through the form. The intake form asks for the basics of the business and the need. Reports, account numbers, and identity documents are never collected through the website. If you engage credit advisory, the reports you have pulled yourself are discussed inside the engagement, by a method agreed in the engagement letter.

Can I address reporting errors myself?

Yes, and the official channels are free. The CFPB and the FTC publish instructions and sample letters for disputing an inaccurate entry with the reporting company and with the business that supplied the information. Paying anyone is not required to exercise that right. Credit advisory shows you how to identify a genuine error and organize the evidence; it does not file disputes for you and it never disputes accurate information. The resource center links every official source.

Will credit advisory guarantee a score increase?

No. No service can responsibly guarantee a score, and the FTC warns against anyone who does. Scores are calculated by the scoring companies from the information in the file, and different models and dates produce different numbers. The engagement improves what you understand and how you manage the obligations. Whether and how a score moves depends on the facts in the file.

How is credit advisory priced?

As a fixed fee engagement, with scope and fee set out in a single engagement letter after a qualifying conversation. The fee is never contingent on a score, a deletion, or a funding result, and there is no success fee of any kind.
